The Club has become well know throughout the years for the great repeater coverage in the Tri-State area. Our 2 Meter repeater is located at a High Rise Dorm at the University of Pennsylvania, at approximately 500 ft. above average ground height.

This system is in the process of being reworked. A new antenna was installed last year, and recently the amplifier was placed back on line. Current plans are to install new voter by the end of April. This will make all the remote inputs fully operational again. The work is being performed by the H.A.R.C. technical committee and when finished will make the HARC repeater again, one of the premier repeater systems in the city of Philadelphia.

Our system has three remote inputs (Abington, N.E. Phila, and Cherry Hill) working through a voter. Mobile coverage averages about 40+ miles around Philadelphia normally, and can be worked from the Tri-State area by low powered Hand-Helds.

H.A.R.C. has a net every Wednesday night at 8pm and we rebroadcast: Newsline, the RAIN report, ARRL audio news and This Week in Amateur Radio every Saturday night at 9pm and Sunday mornings at 10am.

CW practice: Wednesday at 7:30 PM
The Chaverim net: Tuesday at 9:00 OM

As you can see, occasionally there are gremlins in the works.

The brown box is the controller, and above that is the transmitter.

LINE OF SIGHT IS IMPORTANT
This is what our antenna sees.

Center city Philadelphia

To the north. That vertical line just right of center is our antenna.

Looking northwest. The television and broadcast radio antenna farm in the Roxborough section of the city about six miles away.

From the northeast input site, that is Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

Meet you on the HARC repeater.
